Jackie Cuncannan, LMSW
Jackie Cuncannan, LMSW, is a Licensed Master of Social Work who provides therapy to adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other life challenges. Jackie has a particular interest in working with adults with ADHD—especially professionals and caregivers juggling high-responsibility roles—helping them manage overwhelm, improve focus, and build more sustainable systems of support.
Jackie also works extensively with adolescents and their families, drawing on years of experience in youth mental health. She helps teens build emotional awareness, strengthen identity, and develop tools for managing anxiety, emotional regulation, and life transitions. As a parent herself, Jackie brings a grounded, real-world perspective to her work with teens and their caregivers. She offers parent coaching and school consultations to support progress both at home and in academic settings.
Jackie's therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based behavioral modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These methods are especially effective in supporting clients with ADHD and executive functioning challenges, as well as those navigating performance anxiety, perfectionism, and chronic stress.
Jackie completed her master’s in social work while working in adolescent mental health and later earned a law degree from Washington University in St. Louis. She worked as a civil rights attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, focusing on systemic reform in mental health services for teens. This unique professional background gives her a deep understanding of complex systems and the pressures that high-achieving individuals often face.
In addition to her work with teens and families, Jackie has a special interest in supporting current and former federal employees and other professionals experiencing burnout, workplace anxiety, or challenging life transitions. Her practice provides a supportive, nonjudgmental space to build resilience, clarity, and momentum during periods of stress, transition, or uncertainty.
